Step 1: Prime Your Locks

Just like you would want to prime your face for smooth makeup application, it’s equally as important to prep your hair to ensure smooth styling. Step 2: Style Your Locks

Ah, it’s finally time to style. Now that your hair is clean, primed, dry and smells amazing it’s time to grab your 1” curling iron and start sectioning your hair. Make sure that you part your hair deep to one side and that you are curling in one direction, leaving the front section closest to your face last. Each time you curl a section of hair, let it go gently then wrap it back up into a neat little roll using two fingers. Pin with a bobby or clip and repeat for each section.

Once you are done curling all around, grab the front section and and tease (back comb) the back. Some like to use hair spray when teasing, but you run the risk of creating a lot of breakage. Something we like to opt for instead is dry shampoo. Once you are finished teasing, use two fingers to roll up the section and pin. Now that your curls have cooled, remove the pins leaving that front section for last. Lightly brush out your hair and give way for smooth and flawless looking waves! Now when you unpin the front section make sure to hold down the end of the section and roll upwards to rewrap, but this time very loosely until you have achieved a nice looking hollow shaped “O” roll that sits on top of your head ready to pin down. Congrats, you have just brought back the 1950s victory roll (even if it is just for one night)!
